Wood

Wood is an environmentally friendly and versatile raw material. Through the storing of carbon in durable wood products and its substitution for other materials, wood can make an important contribution to climate protection. The potential of wood as a material has not yet been exhausted in many areas. The researchers at the FVA are thus developing processes for the effective, targeted production and evaluation of raw timber as a resource, in order to maximise the efficiency of its material and energetic utilisation.
