Wildlife management & the forest
Large herbivores such as roe deer and red deer are an integral part of our forests and fulfil important functions. However, their activities can also cause damage to forestry and agriculture. The aim of our work here is to carry out research into cloven-hoofed game species in Baden-Württemberg to provide a basis for knowledge-based and successful cloven-hoofed game management. The tasks covered include the monitoring of cloven-hoofed game populations, the analysis of space use, population modelling, and the recording of wildlife impact and damage in the forest.
